GREATER CINCINNATI
SOCIETY OF
PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS
FEBRUARY 3RD --
LUNCH FOR THE PROS
PANEL
DISCUSSION: "ROLLING STONE, UVA
and JOURNALISM"
Rolling Stone's expose on University of
Virginia fraternities produced an immediate and dramatic reaction on the
campus.
However, serious questions quickly emerged
about the thoroughness of the research and the accuracy of the article.
The
magazine backed away from the story, but the damage was done to the university
and reporters everywhere.
How
could this have been avoided? What are
the legal ramifications? What role
should ethics have played? What's the
solution going forward?
Join
the Greater Cincinnati Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists
for "Lunch For The Pros" and a lively panel discussion on February
3rd from 11:30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
It's
on the 20th floor of the Cincinnati Enquirer, 312 Elm Street, Downtown. Bring your own lunch or munch on sandwiches
provided by the SPJ chapter. See you
there.
Panelists
include:
1) Jack Greiner, media attorney with
Graydon Head and Ritchey
2) Monica Dias, media attorney with Frost
Brown Todd
3) Dr. Jeff Blevins is head of the University of Cincinnati Department of Journalism
