Region 4 - Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania
REGION 4 NEWS – SUMMER 2018
Volume 2
You’ve always wanted to visit Baltimore. You’d love to meet journalists from all over the country. Well, case closed. Problem solved. EIJ18 is the answer to both. Join SPJ and RTDNA professionals and students from September 27-29.
Early bird signup at spj.org ends July 25th. Don’t delay. Beating the deadline can save $100 on registration.
There’s also a wealth of information on the web site about hotel accommodations, travel arrangements and the jam-packed schedule of events.
The opening night reception is at M&T Bank Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens. There’s a newly added Super Session on the Capital Gazette tragedy. There will likely be plenty of discussion about the New York Daily News downsizing.
Don’t forget the RTDNA awards and the SPJ Presidential Installation Banquet.
EIJ18 -- STUDENT ATTENDANCE OPPORTUNITY
If you’re a student wishing to attend EIJ18, but aren’t sure how you’ll pay for the registration, travel and hotel costs, read on.
Region 4 is awarding a $500 grant each to two students who need a little financial help to enjoy the festivities in Baltimore.
It’s very simple to apply and the possible reward is certainly worth the few minutes of time it will take to show your interest.
Just send an e-mail with the following information on it to tmckee@wcpo.com and you’ll be in the hunt for the grant.
--Name, street address, city, state, ZIP code, e-mail address, phone number
--One creative paragraph about why EIJ18 will be a better conference if you’re in Baltimore
Don’t put it off – the deadline is August 31st. Good luck.
- Tom McKee, Region 4 Director
