Ohio’s Best Journalism 2021 was celebrated at an October luncheon event on BB Riverboats in Cincinnati. Visit the Ohio’s Best Journalism awards website at www.ohiospjawards.org to view videos of some of our first-place winners, celebration photos, the celebration booklet, and to view the judges’ comments for many of the first-place winners.
We’re also excited to feature a photo submitted by Rebecca Benson, The Blade, Best Photographer in Ohio, Best of Show First, Large Print, on our home page.
The Cincinnati SPJ Chapter served as the host of this year’s awards celebration – and thank you to the following winners who shared their stories in videos:- Hank Nuwer, Darke County Daily Advocate, Best Columnist in Ohio, Best of Show First
- Lois Bowers, McKnight’s Senior Living, Best Trade Columnist in Ohio, Best of Show First
- Chuck Ringwalt, Spectrum 1 News Ohio, Columbus, Best Anchor, Television, Best of Show First
- Afi Scruggs, Best Freelance Writer, Freelance Digital Media, Best of Show First
Like every year, our contest submissions consisted of inspiring work and amazing journalists who created them. Congratulations to all winners! For those who were unable to attend the celebration in person, we’re excited to share a PDF of this year’s awards’ booklet on our website. Thanks, again, for your support of the state contest. Your participation advances our profession, and supports scholarship programs administered by the Central Ohio, Cincinnati and Cleveland Professional Chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists, as well as programming for journalists throughout our state. We’re already making plans for our 2022 contest. Watch your inbox and visit www.ohiospjawards.org for details early next year. |
