The Greater Cincinnati Society of Professional Journalists  cincyspj.blogspot.com twitter.com/cincyspj spjcincy@gmail.com Like us on Facebook Improving and protecting journalism in Greater Cincinnati since 1967 Join SPJ **REMINDER** PLEASE JOIN US ON THURSDAY, JUNE 23rd FOR THE ANNUAL EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM AWARDS PROGRAM AND INDUCTION CEREMONIES FOR THE  GREATER CINCINNATI JOURNALISM HALL OF FAME Five individuals will be inducted into the Greater Cincinnati Journalism Hall of Fame on Thurs., June 23, 2022 by the Cincinnati Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.  The induction program will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the offices of Graydon Head & Ritchey The four living honorees that will be celebrated in 2022 include: Rob Braun, Sherry Hughes, Polly Campbell and Gary Landers One individual will be inducted posthumously: Lonnie Wheeler The Hall of Fame was created by the Greater Cincinnati Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.  The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be part of the annual Excellence in Journalism Awards program. Congratulations to all the Hall of Fame honorees as well as the winners and finalists in the 2022 Excellence In Journalism contest!  Thursday, June 23, 2022 -- 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Evening includes: 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. - Reception  7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - Program Event will be held at the offices of Graydon Head & Ritchey, inside the Scripps Center, Suite 1800 at 312 Walnut Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202. Tickets purchased after June 17 are $40 each. (Plus applicable Eventbrite fees; includes hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Guests may also bring a check with them at the door.) Ohio’s Best Journalism – 2022 Judging Under Way Contest Celebration Aug. 27 Honoring the Best of Ohio’s Print, Broadcast, Digital Media, Freelance, Trade and College Journalism We wanted to give you a quick 2022 Ohio’s Best Journalism contest update. We are excited to report that judging is under way. Our judging partners in the national SPJ judging swap are from the Long Island Press Club. Our Ohio journalists judged their contest earlier this year.   Another highlight: We received 470 submissions! Thanks to everyone for supporting our contest and for your patience as we completed the submission process.   We hope to announce the winners July and celebrate in-person in late August. The Central Ohio Pro Chapter in Columbus is hosting this year. Save the date for Saturday, August 27, around noon.
